What is a Blocked Account?
A blocked account (Sperrkonto) proves you have sufficient funds to support yourself in Germany. As of the current requirement, you'll need to deposit approximately €11,904 for one year, released in monthly installments of around €992.
Steps
- Choose a provider (Fintiba, Expatrio, or a partner bank).
- Open the account online and transfer the required amount.
- Receive a confirmation letter to include with your visa application.
- Once you arrive in Germany, open a local bank account to start receiving monthly disbursements.
